Apart from a better stability, this new version brings:
- the ability to export data to external files (currently only Excel spreadsheets, but more format will be supported in the future);
- the possibility to call a method several times in a row on a list of objects.

This new version of Objectwiz fixes a lot of bugs, brings more stability and some new functionalities. Major changes include:
- Application agent: The front-end now connects to target applications in the server through a small agent (a lightweight EJB JAR) that must be added to each application. This new connection paradigm allows to perform some operations that were not possible before (write access on JTA-enabled persistence units).
- Deployment listener: Objectwiz now detects automatically when an application is (re)deployed.
- Method calls: a lot of issues regarding transactions and discovery were fixed.

Version 0.3a was just released on SourceForge. Apart from many bugfixes, this version brings two major functionalities that are available directly in the graph view: edition of objects and support for method calls. Note: support for these write-access functionalities is disabled for default users. To grant write-access to one user, administrators have to associate the role 'objectwizDeveloper' to this user.
See the project page on SourceForge for download. |
